Complementing the support from German Cooperation for the capitalisation of BIOFUND, a project was approved to strengthen the institution itself through a technical assistance project for a two year period (2016-2017) to the value of about €1 000 000.

The Project specifies that its objective is to provide resources to finance a consultancy which will have the main task of strengthening the management capacities of BIOFUND, of ANAC and of the Conservation Areas as a basic requirement for the efficient use of the resources allocated to them. This consultancy is being provided by an international public consortium, formed by GITEC Consult GmbH, Germany (GITEC), Verde Azul Consult Ltd., Mozambique (Verde Azul) and the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund, Brazil (FUNBIO).
