Position: Minister of Land and Environment, Mozambique

Ivete Joaquim Maibaze, Master in Environmental Education from the University of Johannesburg (2009) and with a Degree in Education Science from the Rand Afrikaanse University in South Africa (2003). Between 1998 and 2004, she was a technician in the Ministry for the Coordination of Environmental Action.

She worked as a technician at the Sustainable Development Center for Natural Resources CDS-RN in Chimoio, in the Training and Outreach Department.

In 2008 she served the National Directorate of Planning and Studies, Department of Planning, in the Ministry for the Coordination of Environmental Action, as a technician.

In 2009 she was a technician at the National Directorate for Environmental Promotion in the Ministry for the Coordination of Environmental Action.

She was advisor to the Minister for the Coordination of Environmental Action between 2009 and 2012.

Between 2012 and 2015 she was the National Director for Environmental Promotion in the Ministry for the Coordination of Environmental Action.

Between 2015 and 2020 she worked as National Director for the Environment in the Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development.

In 2020, she was sworn in as Minister of Land and Environment.
