The IDAI Project was implemented between 2019 and 2023 with the objective of supporting the restoration of management infrastructure at Chimanimani National Park (CNP), severely affected by Cyclone Idai. Fully financed through BIOFUND’s endowment returns, with a total budget of USD 250,000, the project was developed in partnership with the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC).

During implementation, alternative access roads were opened, significantly improving park accessibility. Additionally, 73 km of existing roads were rehabilitated and 22 km of trails and firebreaks opened, strengthening law enforcement and monitoring efforts. The project also ensured ongoing maintenance of critical infrastructure, including solar energy and water supply systems.
